The Alqueva dam has the biggest water basin
in occidental Europe, with 120,000 ha of new irrigated areas.

Located in Alentejo it goes along 83 km, through Moura, Portel, Mourão, Reguengos de Monsaraz and Alandroal municipalities, with a total area of 250 km2.

This is Europe's largest irrigation project,
enhancing the variables that give natural competitive advantages to the region.
